The hyaluronic acid (HA) used in Play Again Now is a result of microbial fermentation and is derived from plant-based sources. This high-molecular-weight HA plays a significant role throughout the entire body.

Viscos first implemented its research program with a randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled clinical study to establish the safety and efficacy of its formula. The next research initiative extended the four-week clinical study into a year-long open-label study to confirm continuing safety and efficacy at the one-year mark: “Evaluation of effects of consumption of Play Again on chronic pain and functionality: Results from a 1-year open-label clinical study.” The data showed a steady decrease in pain and use of medication throughout the one-year study. By the end of the one-year study, a highly significant reduction in chronic pain was seen in the study participants.
Subsequently, a direct extension from the previous 4-week and 1-year studies was conducted, in order to verify the effectiveness of the new Play Again Now® formulation with the addition of MSM. The many improvements in this open label study (“Evaluation of effects of consumption of Play Again Now® on chronic pain in humans: An open-label feasibility study”) reached statistical significance already at two weeks, and continued to improve at four weeks.
